Meet the Winemaker – Lasha Abashidze

We are excited to welcome Lasha Abashidze from Kartveli Wines.
Lasha comes from the country of Georgia—the birthplace of wine. In Georgia, wine is not just a drink; it is a way of life. Making wine at home was as natural as gathering around the table. Wine was always present, connecting generations, stories, and traditions.
Although wine shaped his upbringing, it wasn’t until much later that it became his path. Lasha moved to the United States in 2015 and spent years working across different industries before eventually building a career in tech. Wine remained in his heart, but not yet in his profession.
In 2023, together with a few close friends, he co-founded the Colorado Georgian Community Association – Ertoba, with the goal of sharing Georgian culture. After moving to Colorado, Lasha realized how difficult it was to find truly authentic Georgian wines—wines that reflected the soul, history, and craftsmanship he knew from home. That realization sparked a new purpose: to become a Georgian wine and culture ambassador in Colorado.
In 2024, that purpose turned into a passion and a business. He works only with small, family-owned producers, believing small productions preserve authenticity and deliver the true flavors of Georgia—something mass production can never replace.
Lasha’s mission is to continue introducing and supporting small Georgian winemakers, helping their wines travel beyond borders—one glass at a time.
Ticket price is $50 per person and includes a flight of wines and food highlighting the Georgian culture.
Seating is limited based on time of year and not being able to use the patio. Grab your tickets early and come for a relaxing evening of wine & food!
