Women + Wine with Happy Day Plants
For the month of April, Women & Wine will feature a program featuring Jessica Birmingham of Happy Day Plants. We will be celebrating Earth Day with a special planting and you’ll get to take home your plant with you!
Happy Day Plants is the culmination of owner Jessica Birmingham’s lifelong passion and dedication. For years, Jessica nurtured a wide variety of houseplants, all while dreaming of opening her own plant shop. The turning point came when her eldest daughter, Bailey, who has Down Syndrome, graduated from high school. The Birmingham family soon discovered the scarcity of employment opportunities for young adults like Bailey. Jessica’s enduring love for plants, combined with her desire to empower individuals with special needs, inspired her to open a retail storefront on November 6, 2021, on Main Street in Downtown Longmont.
Over the past three years, Happy Day Plants has experienced tremendous growth and received overwhelming community support for its mission to provide meaningful job opportunities for adults with disabilities, who often face significant barriers to traditional employment. In June 2024, Happy Day Plants became a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. This transformation allows us to cultivate growth not only in the houseplants we nurture but also in the lives we touch.

Ticket prices are $50 for WAW members; $75 for non-members. This includes a flight of wine from a female winemaker and a food platter of your choice, along with a plant for you to take home!
