Gebbia 2023 Ambratu, Sicily, Italy

This hand harvested, organic blend is comprised of 80% Catarratto and 20% Zibibbo. Vines are grown at over 700 meters above sea level, fermented over four months in stainless steel tanks, and spontaneously fermented. With long maceration, it leads to a lower alcohol content of 12.5%. Winemaker Vito Lauria, a native of Sicily, boasts his record of having a 100% locally sourced production. Labels are all water-colored images of personal photographs taken by Vito of Sicily proper. The other unique feature is their 1 liter bottles are topped with a crown bottlecap.

 

Cantine Povero 2024 Roero Arneis, Piedmont, Italy

This certified organic, hand harvested, 100% Arneis is aged on the lees for 3 months in stainless steel. Cantine Povero is owned by a fourth generation wine making family in the heart of Piedmont. The sand and clay soil content of the Piedmont add to the dry and mineral palate. Cantine Povero purchased their original vineyard in 1837 – now on the fourth generation of their winemaking family, they’re still headquartered in the original medieval castle on the property.

 

Di Majo Norante 2024 Falanghina, Molise, Italy

Certified organic, 100% Falanghina, gown in clay soil, is aged in contact with the lees, and complete malolactic fermentation. This vineyard is planted just 50 meters above sea level and grown in the direction of the Mediterranean Sea. Molise, Italy was originally settled during the conflict between the Samnites and Romans in 321 BC. Winemaking at Di Majo Norante dates back to the 19th Century as old cellars were found under the original homestead dating to this period.

 

Abbazia Di Novacella 2024 Kerner, Valle Isarco, Alto Adige, Italy

100% Kerner, grown on morainic deposits composed of mica schist, para gneiss and quartzite on south-west facing vineyards. Fermented in stainless steel tanks for 6 months with indigenous yeasts before bottling. Cold April frosts are mitigated by the strategic use of frost candles to ensure the survival of the vine. Abbazia Di Novacella was originally a monastery that was established by Pope Innocence II in 1143. Nearly 500 years later in 1623 it was found that the gravel soil type left behind by ice age glaciers in the Bressanone Valley left the perfect conditions for winemaking and the monastery was transformed into a vineyard.

 

Alois Lageder 2024 Schiava, Alto Adige, Italy

100% Schiava grown at 400 meters above sea level, is fully malolactic fermented for 6 months in concreate before being transferred to stainless steel for the remaining maceration. The vines are grown using a pergola trellis system, leading to the vines growing 6 to 7 feet off the ground to provide accommodation for their holistic viticulture approach. Alois Lageder was founded in 1823 by a 6th generation family as wine traders – the first vineyards in the family were purchased in 1934.

 

La Magia 2024 Toscana Rosso Sangiovese, Montalcino, Italy

Organic certified, 100% Sangiovese produced at La Magia which located at an old Roman estate dating back to the Etruscan era. They welcome student wine makers through the award winning Istituto Agrario San Michell all’Adige, cultivating the future of the Italian wine industry. Fermented fully in stainless steel tanks. Every label’s design is based on contemporary artists whose work is admired by the family. The design on this vintage is inspired by the famous works of the artist Banksy.

 

Luca Di Salaparuta 2022 Lavico Narello Mascalese, Sicily, Italy

100% Lavico Narello Mascalese, grapes are hand-picked and fermented with skins on. Malolactic fermentation takes place in concrete tanks for a year – the wine is then swapped to oak barriques for at least 2 months, before a final month of aging in the bottle. Luca Di Salaparuta is located just north of Mount Etna, the tallest active volcano in the world. The volcanic and limestone soils that surround the area provide the Narello Mascalese with a unique profile. Luca’s original home on the vineyard has turned into an artistic workshop for art, film, and ‘self-expression’ – continuing the growth of Sicilian culture.

 

Pasqua 2022 Romeo & Juliet Red Blend, Veneto, Italy

This blend of 40% Merlot, 30% Corvina, and 30% Crotina is hand picked, vinified in steel ferments, and than matured in oak barrels for 6 months. Grapes are initially left to dry in a fruit cellar where they lose about 30% of their water content. Founded in 1925, Pasqua has been intertwined with its cities’ famous history – the bottle’s label depicts graffiti on the famous wall in Juliet’s courtyard in Verona. Pasqua’s initial name to fame was their development of an automatic bottling system in the 1940s launching the family’s storied success in the region.
