100% Sauvignon Blanc grown on clay and sand is a 15 year old vine on the 37 acre vineyard. Tient Cottat was a famous “Master Goldsmith” in mid-19th century France. Born in Paris, he loved the Berry region of the central Loire Valley. His legacy is perpetuated through the Patient Cottat range of selected traditional Loire Valley wines, produced by the Fournier family. Situated in the small village of Verdigny in the Sancerre region, the Fournier family has been making wine for many generations. The estate has grown from 13 acres in 1950 to almost 75 acres today, divided over the appellations of Menetou-Salon, Pouilly-Fumé, and Sancerre.

The emblematic grape varieties of Provence: Grenache, Cinsault, but also Syrah and Rolle, are harvested at optimal ripeness. The grapes are hand-harvested early in the morning to preserve their full freshness. Finished in all stainless steel for several months. La Mascaronne’s 60 hectares of vines are planted on a single, continuous ring-shaped plot of land. Meticulous preparation of the soils allows roots to reach deep down into the depths of the land, which protects the vine from extreme dryness. Irrigation is thus rendered unnecessary.
