Steenberg Estate 2023 Sauvignon Blanc, Constantia

Retail: $56| Club Price: $49| 6 Bottle Price: $280

100% Sauvignon Blanc grown on gravel and decomposed granite soils. All hand harvested and fermented in stainless steel with 60-90 days of time on the lees. Steenberg is a 165-hectare property in the Constantia ward of the Cape Town district, with approximately 65 hectares of vineyards. It’s name translates to “Mountain of Stone” due to the granite soils where the estate lies. A farm that has been a working vineyard for over three centuries. The original deed to the land was awarded to the family in 1682, with over 30,000 vines planted in 1735. The estate is considered the oldest farm in Cape Town.

Stormpoint 2024 Chenin Blanc, Swartland

Retail: $43| Club Price: $37| 6 Bottle Price: $211

100% Chenin Blanc from multiple vineyards throughout the Swartland. Grown on decomposed granite with an average vine age of 25 years old. The grapes were hand harvested. A cool and controlled spontaneous fermentation occurred in stainless steel and the wine was left on its gross lees for nine months. Fermented with native yeasts. As for the name, Storm Point is a reference to the ‘Cabo das Tormentas’ or ‘Cape of Storms’ that Bartolomeu Dias rounded successfully in 1488, and pays homage to the rugged, wind-blown climate of the Swartland.

New Dawn 2025 White Blend, Western Cape

Retail: $52| Club Price: $45| 6 Bottle Price: $257

54% Chenin Blanc, 42% Roussanne, and 4% Verdelho. All fruit is sourced from certified sustainable vineyards across the Western Cape region. Each variety was chosen for its distinct contribution: Chenin Blanc provides the backbone with its crisp acidity and versatility, Roussanne adds richness and aromatic complexity, while Verdelho brings a touch of exotic fruit and textural intrigue. Juice was fermented with native yeast in a combination of neutral oak and stainless steel vats. The wine spent 3 months on the lees to add richness and complexity, creating layers of texture that complete it as a delicious food wine.

Thorne & Daughters 2021 ‘Paper Kite’ Semillon, Swartland

Retail: $67| Club Price: $58| 6 Bottle Price: $331

Semillon Blanc and Gris planted on alluvial granite soil. The grapes were pressed gently in an old basket press and fermented with wild yeasts in old French oak barrels. The fruit is sourced from a single, registered old-vine block (planted in the early 1960s) in the Paardeberg region of the Swartland. While the vineyard is primarily Semillon Blanc, it features a natural scattering of Semillon Gris—a pink-skinned genetic mutation of the grape that is almost entirely unique to historic South African vineyards. Semillon accounted for over 90% of South Africa’s vineyards. Today it has become nearly obsolete.
