A classic Loire Valley, 100% Sauvignon Blanc. Pierre Ragon of Domaine Trotereau is as much an icon of the small appellation of Quincy in the Loire Valley as the appellation itself is a historical icon for the whole of France. Quincy was the second recognized appellation in France in 1936, second only to Châteauneuf-du-Pape. These grapes were grown on sandy, silex, and pink limestone soil. Only indigenous yeasts were used for fermentation which took place in stainless steel with no malollactic fermentation.

A Bordeaux Blanc with 70% Semillon & 30% Sauvignon Blanc coming from 35 year old vines. All grown on clay and limestone fissured rock. This was aged in stainless steel for 5 months and the wine went through no filtration.
Hervé Dubourdieu is the winemaker at Chateau Ducasse, and this estate dates back to 1890, which sits in the heart of Haut Barsac.

This blend is comprised of 30% Sylvaner, 25% Riesling, 20% Pinot Blanc, 10% Muscat, 10% Pinot Gris and 5% Gewurztraminer. All varietals were grown on loess, silt, and limestone on 25-45 year old vines. These whole grapes were pressed in a pneumatic press and aged on the lees for 6 months in a hundred-year-old foudre. Kuentz was first established in 1795 and the domaine used today was forged through marriage that joined the Kuentz and Bas families in 1895.
Chateau de Trinquevedel 2025 Tavel Rosé, Rhone Valley, France

This deep rosé is a blend of 50% Grenache, 20% Cinsault, 12% Clairette, 10% Syrah, 5% Mourvedre and 3% Bourboulenc. These grapes were grown on sand, Marl, limestone, and clay with quartz from 32 year old vines. Cold skin maceration lasted for 12 to 48 hours in cement tank while fermentation lasted 20 days in cement tank and then aged for 6 to 9 months in stainless steel. 4th generation wine makers bought the estate in 1936 and Louis XIV was among the first to praise Tavel’s memorable rosés.

100% Gamay all harvested by hand from on average 65 year old vines grown on granite soil from a small, 8 hectare vineyard. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel and cement tanks. Wine is bottled unfined and unfiltered. The Chignards take a minimalist approach in both the vineyards and the cellar. The finished wines couldn’t be more reflective of Les Moriers’ splendid location: light and playful, with deep, ripe fruit and finesse.

A Pinot Noir from 30-40 Year Old Vines, grown on Kimmeridgian limestone. No fertilizer, isecticides, or herbicides are used on this vineyard. All grapes are hand-harvested and fermented with natural yeasts in cement tanks. This wine is aged in 15% new oak barrels for one year and these oak barrels come from the family’s own land in the Les Bertranges forest.
Irancy is a relatively small appellation, located just southwest of Chablis.

A lovely blend of 57% Grenache, 31% Syrah, 5% Cinsault, 4% Carignan and 3% Mourvèdre. These grapes are sourced from the right bank of the Rhone. Grown on Alluvial soils with galets roules (Galets roulés are components of the terroir, and a distinguishing feature of many of the vineyards in the Côtes du Rhône AOC) The vineyard is organic certified. Spontaneous fermentation with native yeasts occured in concrete tank. Aged for 10-12 months.

Philippe Bernede is also the inventor of the double-hinged corkscrew!
